{Kate & Matt} Wedding Photography – Grand Volute Ballrooms, Lowell, Michigan

Matt and Kate were married on December 17, 2011 at Grand Volute Ballrooms in Lowell, Michigan.  This was our last wedding of the year and we had a great time with this awesome couple.  Grand Volute is a wonderful location!  We started the day at Grand Volute as Kate and Matt got ready with their wedding party.

Matt and Kate opted for a first look at the top of the beautiful staircase at Grand Volute.  I love it when couples decide to do a first look.

We decided to head to Fallasburg park in Lowell and do some quick outdoor photos with the wedding party. Up until this point there hadn’t been much snow but it decided to start snowing  just as we started the wedding party photos.  A special thanks to Darin who made sure Kate’s dress didn’t get dirty!

Thanks for inviting us to be a part of your special day Matt & Kate.  Also, a special thanks to the following who rocked!

Ceremony/Reception: Grand Volute Ballrooms

Video: Inspiration Video

Cake: MiraBella Confections

Flowers: The Potting Shed

{Emily Rae Photography 2011 in Review} Grand Rapids Wedding & Lifestyle Photographer

2011 has been an incredible year.  I’m so thankful for all of the amazing people I’ve had the opportunity to photograph and get to know this year.  20 weddings and over 80 sessions! I’ve been busy:)  I’m so thankful for the ability to do to what I love for a living.  Here is quick review of 2011 (in no particular order). Happy New Year!

And I ended with a picture of Darin, Mia and me, partially because I had one extra space on the post, but I really did take this picture (with a tripod and timer):)

{Cadey Ann} Emily Rae Photography Rockford, MI Newborn Photographer

Meet Cadey Ann.  You remember her mom & dad from their belly session here. Cadey was super sweet – although she wanted to be held most of the time, we still managed to get some great sleeping shots.  Congrats Em & Cory!

{Alan & Amanda} Kalamazoo Wedding Photography

Alan and Amanda were married on November 19, 2011.  We began the day with Amanda and her girls getting ready at Blue 302 Salon in Kalamazoo. After hair and make-up the girls headed back to the hotel to finish getting ready.Next we headed over to the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners for Alan and Amanda’s first look and wedding party pictures. This was my first time at the Gilmore car museum.  It was an awesome venue for pictures and the staff there were wonderful to work with!Amanda made her own bouquet by collecting unique brooches and pins.  This was so creative and gorgeous! After pictures we headed to the ceremony and reception site at The Silo in Allegan, MI. This was a great venue for both the ceremony and reception.  Amanda did an amazing job adding so many special touches – it was so fun to photograph all the details! This was a Jewish wedding, so prior to the ceremony the couple with their parents and best man/maid of honor as witnesses signed the Ketubah.  The Ketubah was absolutely gorgeous.Amanda’s father built the beautiful chuppah pictured below. The speeches/toasts and prayers given were very touching.  Amanda’s sister and maid of honor, Ashley, topped it all with a creative and funny speech that was a song set to the tune of “hello mother, hello father”.  This was definately one of the most creative speeches I’ve seen. The bride & groom’s first dance:The band, Drop 35, did an amazing job as always! The bouquet/garter toss:

And lots of dancing to end the night!

Thank you to Alan and Amanda for a beautiful day.  I’m so glad you choose us to be a part of it.

Also, a special thank you to the following vendors/venues who rocked:

Hair/Makeup: Blue 302 Salon

Pictures: The Gilmore Car Museum

Ceremony/Reception: The Silo
